Zahara taking ‘Phendula’ to the people

Popular singer-songwriter Zahara has revealed the dates for her eleven-city national tour to promote upcoming album 'Phendula'.

Commenting on the tour, TK Nciza of TS Records said the purpose was to showcase Zahara by taking her to the people and making her more accessible without waiting for promoters to book her.

Part of this exercise will be a first listen to the singer’s new album, which is set to emulate her critically acclaimed, best-selling debut album ‘Loliwe’, which turned her into a national treasure.

The tour will give fans a firsthand experience of ‘Phendula’ (meaning respond or reply), which features artists such as Ladysmith Black Mambazo, acclaimed poet Mzwakhe Mbuli, Nigerian singer 2Face Idibia, and twins Anele and Neliswa Mxhakaza who controversially didn’t make the cut during the 2013 ‘Idols SA’ auditions. It is set for release at the end of September.

Zahara’s ‘Phendula’ tour kicks off at the CTICC in Cape Town on Friday, 27 September, before trekking to Gold Reef City’s Lyric Theatre for performances on Thursday 3, and Friday, 4 October. Subsequently locations on her itinerary include Mbombela, Mahikeng, Port Elizabeth, Mangaung, Polokwane, and Durban.
