Lindiwe Suttle moving in the right direction

Singer-songwriter Lindiwe Suttle say it's ironic that she recently won a John Lennon Songwriting Award with her track called 'Twilight', seeing as it was inspired by her parents' reluctance to let her pursue a career in music.

Raised in the States and currently based in Berlin, Germany, Suttle won the R&B category of the songwriting awards with her single ‘Twilight’ from her upcoming album ‘Kamikaze Art’.

She is the daughter of well-known SA talk show host Felicia Mabuza-Suttle, and is often mentioned for her deep songwriting and avant-garde sense of style.

“It is ironic to win for the song ‘Twilight’, as it was inspired by my childhood musical heroes and how afraid my parents were of my getting into the music industry,” she told SunBuzz.

“Winning a music award shows I am moving in the right direction”.

As the winner of the John Lennon Songwriting R&B Award, Lindiwe now automatically stands in line for a Song of the Year Award.

‘Kamikaze Art’ is set for international release at the beginning of 2014.
