SA rockers Uptown Rhythm Dogs return to the stage

This reunion will feature a broad spectrum of music comprising old and new songs, as well as acoustic renditions.

Due to popular demand, the Uptown Rhythm Dogs have announced two reunion shows at The Auto and General Theatre on the Square on March 22 and 23.

The trio were at the forefront of “world music” and mainstream rock in the mid-’80s and have recently got back together to perform a few select concerts and record a brand new album.

Neill Solomon, Dan Chiorboli and Greg Georgiades have shared 38 years of friendship and musical adventures and have had eventful lives in the music world, with all three embarking separately on a broad spectrum of wildly diverse, innovative and successful projects.

This reunion will feature a broad spectrum of music comprising old songs from The Occupant and Magic Man period such as Roxy Lady, The Stranger and Junk Foods and Disposable Ladies, new songs from the Different Places album, as well as acoustic renditions from The Liberation Project’s recently released classic album Songs That Made Us Free.

Joining them will be newcomers Zacas, who have just released their debut album Corner House on which Luigi and Salva Zaca sing a set of original songs about some of life’s big themes.

Corner House is brimming with songs that reflect the life path of two close brothers. Their song, Feather Lady, helped secure Zacas a record deal.
