Rapper Mthembeni “Emtee” Ndevu took to Twitter to slam rumours that he was a “druggie”, saying they were started by people who were trying to destroy his career. In a series of tweets, Emtee said he would expose people for who they really were this year, further reiterating that he had never had a drug problem. He, however, revealed that the rumours could have started from his dealing days, when people assumed he was also using.
“I never had a drug problem. I was just in disbelief that people can do or say any and everything about you when you’re quiet and [trying to not] start shit. I use to hear that people were having meetings on how to stop me.
“I use to be a dealer because I was hungry. Ni**as turned around and called me a druggie. I sold that shit because I was broke! Never used it.”

Emtee was the talk of the Twitter streets last year following his disastrous performance.
In a series of videos that went viral on social media, Emtee could be seen falling during his performance at a music concert in Lephalale, Limpopo, in July. While most speculated that his fall was a result of drugs, Emtee defended himself, saying he only smoked “intsango [weed]” and not other drugs as speculated.
Emtee said he was not always high, as suggested by some of his fans.
“How can I be high when I have meetings with white people? I’m a businessman,” he said.
