South African-born photographer to shoot Uma Thurman

A self-taught photographer from South Africa is shooting Hollywood actress, Uma Thurman, for Campari's 2014 Calendar, one of the world's iconic art calendars.

Koto Bolofo was born in South Africa before fleeing to the UK. After living as political refugees for nearly 25 years, the family returned to South Africa in the early years of democracy. Today, Bolofo lives in France, where his clients include Dior, Hermes and Louis Vuitton, as well as Vogue, Vanity Fair and GQ.

Uma Thurman has starred in a number of high-profile blockbusters, namely ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Kill Bill’. She follows in the footsteps of previous Campari Calendar stars, namely Salma Hayek, Eva Mendes, Jessica Alba, Milla Jovovich and Penelope Cruz.

Campari officially revealed the photographer and talent for the 2014 Calendar in Milan recently. The theme was released at the same time. Titled ‘Worldwide Celebration,’ each month focuses on a festival from a different culture, like the Spring Festival in Beijing, Mardi Gras in New Orleans and Melbourne Cup in Australia.

The complete calendar will be made public in November.
