#MakeItStop campaign still trending

5fm DJ Thando Thabethe has rallied her celeb friends together to start a conversation around abused women.

South African celebrities offered their voices and faces to assist Thabethe with the #MakeItStop initiative. The images portray a chilling representation of women who have been abused.

Bruises, cuts and broken bones are the reality of many South Africans. According to POWA, one in every six women who die in Gauteng is killed by an intimate partner.

The #MakeItStop images were posted on social media platforms yesterday and trended in South Africa within minutes.
