Kelly Khumalo: Love like this

Singer Kelly Khumalo's love life has been media fodder for years now it seems.

Khumalo, a talented vocalist seems to be in the media more for her boyfriends than her songs.

In the latest turn of events, Khumalo was accused of beating her rumoured maskandi musician boyfriend Zamokwakhe “Bhaka” Nzama. In an interview with several news publications, Nzama claimed Khumalo pushed, shoved and poked him in the eye, because she wanted him to leave his first wife.

Nzama alleged that this occurred a few hours before the Metro FM Awards on the 28th of February.

This is not the first report of Khumalo fighting. In 2013, she was involved in an altercation with her late lover, Senzo Meyiwa’s then wife Mandisa.

A few years ago she was involved in a dust up with talk show host Khanyi Mbau.

Khumalo was involved with slain Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goal keeper Senzo Meyiwa, who is the father of her second child, Thingo. Meyiwa died allegedly protecting her from armed robbers. This is not the only man whom she’s dated who had a bad end. The father of her first child, Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye, is currently in jail for murder. Jub Jub and Khumalo were in the news on more than one occasion as a couple, including a nearly burnt down apartment, confessions of drug usage and fighting.

Khumalo has been branded a “cursed woman” and for a period of time, was simultaneously hated and ridiculed on social media.

In other news, Khumalo will be embarking on a UK tour.  Her album Back to my Roots received a nomination at the Metro FM Awards and the controversial song Asine was nominated for song of the year.
