The past weekend was a hard one for South Africans as prominent entertainment personalities we’ve come to know and love passed on.
Simba Mhere and Kady Shay O’Bryan
Top Billing presenter Simba Mhere passed away in a car accident, along with his friend Kady Shay O’Bryan.
Then we heard news of House DJ Bojo Mujo, born Jacki Lehlake, had passed away from a short illness. He will always be remembered for his hits Summer Rain and Thando Lwam’.
While reeling from the deaths of Bojo, Kady and Simba we were informed that businessman Prosper Mkwaiwa had also passed on. Prosper was married and had kids with actress Tina Jaxa, they divorced and he married singer Tina Dlangwana whom he recorded a couple of songs with, the most recent being Ndizamela Wena from 2013.
Prosper had a rough time of it lately. After a shooting incident that involved his wife, he was in a car accident which he was recovering from. He reportedly complained of a high fever and died on his way to the clinic.
Alive: Roland Mqwebu
And lastly there were rumours on social media about Roland Mqwebu, who played the character of Baba uMkhize in the SABC comedy Emzini Wezinsizwa, having passed on. Thankfully his daughter addressed the rumours and said they were false. Her father was in hospital but not dead.
Please ensure the public…my father Roland Mqwebu is NOT dead but is doing well in hospital. Thanks for your prayers @Official_SABC1
