AKA dares Burna Boy to ‘put his hands on me’ as Nigerian, SA fans clash

AKA said he might just attend the recently announced Africans Unite concert to see if Nigerian musician Burna Boy would follow through on threats he made on social media last Month. Burna Boy will be performing at the concert, set to take place in Cape Town at The Lawns on November 23 and Tshwane’s Sun Arena on November 24.
The concert follows recent xenophobic attacks and reports of gender-based violence and will see Kwesta, Sho Madjozi and other African acts performing in an attempt to unify Africans and to take a stand against femicide.
“Presented by South Africa’s department of sports, arts and culture, in association with Channel O, Monster Energy and powered by Play Network Africa. Africans Unite Concert is a collaborative project that aims to rebuild trust and respect amongst African nations by hanging the current narrative to that of unity and solidarity,” reads the description on the advertisement.
Though the two artists were once on good terms, things went south last month during xenophobic attacks in Tshwane.
In response to the attacks, and AKA having complained about losing awards and soccer matches to Nigerians all the time, Burna Boy took to social media, in a series of tweets, to condemn the attacks and threatened AKA while at it. He also vowed never to set foot in South Africa, and now AKA, along with fans have reminded him about his vow following the announcement he would be here next month.
He said at the time: “I have not set foot in SA since 2017. And I will not ever go to South Africa again for any reason until the South African government wakes the fuck up and really performs a miracle because I don’t know how they can even possibly fix this.
“And @MI_Abaga it’s Fuck @akaworldwide from now on. And if you down with him, it’s Fuck you too. I respect you too much, please Don’t throw my respect out the window cuz I swear you will fly out with it.”
He further wrote, in a deleted tweet: “And AKA, I knew you was retarded but I didn’t know it had gotten this bad. Next time I see you you better have a big security bro, On Gambos Grave ur gunna need it.”
Now that Burna Boy will be in South Africa next month, AKA has dared him to follow through with his threat.

The feud had divided South African and Nigerian fans on social media, with each supporting their own. In the midst of the reignited feud among fans, some have, however, argued that this could be a publicity stunt.
