Euphonik says ‘men are trash’, Bonang co-signs his admission

Matheba had previously obtained a protection order against Nkosi after he allegedly physically abused her.

Popular house music DJ Euphonik, real name Themba Mbongeni Nkosi, has become the latest celebrity to weigh in on the general topics of femicide and xenophobia in light of this week’s headlines.

Taking to Twitter, Euphonik tweeted “we are trash” to which his ex-girlfriend Bonang Matheba responded “nonke”.

Nonke is a phrase which Euphonik popularised back in 2016 when he collectively insulted Twitter users at the end of a rant. Nonke means “all of you”.

The rant came after he commented on the subject matter of music that Nasty C had just released at the time. Twitter users assumed that his comments were an underhanded swipe at rapper AKA, who was dating Matheba at the time.

Twitter users then accused Euphonik of not being over Bonang.

“Ok let’s settle it. FML I hate explaining myself but here goes…

“I don’t have any issues or any beef with AKA he didn’t take anything from me nor does he have anything or anyone I want.

“I’m going to be a billionaire, a property BILLIONAIRE, and that requires having stability and a partner that’s mentally stable, alas…

“You can ALL carry on believing that She broke up with me. Reality is if I wanted Hlanyo back. The week wouldn’t end.

“Slikour’s ex to media queen to now the girl that’s f****** AKA. So as much as she can try forget umThizozo (Euphonik) I played a BIG role in her life.

“If you know what my surname is you’ll understand why and how Queen anything came along.

“Last but not least. Ms**u yenu, NONKE,” he tweeted.

Matheba obtained a protection order against Euphonik in 2012 after he allegedly physically abused her.

Reports at the time claimed that he slapped her and allegedly “kicked her like a football” until neighbours rushed to her aid upon hearing her screams.

Matheba claimed he did this because she had forgotten to close the gate at his residence after they had returned from an outing and that he would often abuse her.

Images of her injuries were later leaked to the press.

At the time, Euphonik denied Matheba’s allegations.
