Cassper Nyovest forced to buy back his own Twitter account from hacker

The rapper has lost his original handle in the process and is no longer verified.

Rapper Cassper Nyovest has lost his Twitter verification after his account was hacked.

According to “Mr Fill It Up”, he has since bought his account back, but lost his Twitter “v” – indicating official verification from Twitter that the account is actually his, as well as his old Twitter handle.

Cassper is reportedly back now, but under a new Twitter handle – the not-so-official looking @CasspenyovestM.

However, Nyovest, as well as his current manager, Lerato “TLee” Moiloa, took to Twitter to assure fans that this was the real Cassper – and since he has over a million followers it does seem this is the same account he had before.

In the process of the hacking, though, Nyovest has now lost his old Twitter handle, @CassperNyovest, with both his manager and the rapper himself telling followers and fans not to believe anything tweeted from this account.

The Citizen was unsuccessful in contacting Nyovest at the time of publication.

In a sign that the real Nyovest is back, he has since taken to Twitter to post the kind of hyperbolic tweet he is famous for.

The rapper, who is known for not being shy when it comes to the use of exclamation marks, said he was announcing something very big at 6pm.

Whether his announcement will be big enough to eclipse Finance Minister Tito Mboweni’s budget speech, also coming out later today, remains to be seen.
