Trevor Noah does SA proud

The South African-born comedian and the Daily Show have secured four NAACP nominations.

Trevor Noah continues to shine in his role as The Daily Show host.

The comedian, along with the show, has been nominated this week by the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP) in four categories.

Hardly able to conceal his excitement, Noah immediately took to his social media pages to share the news and thank his fans everywhere.

“That excitement after finding out we’ve been nominated for four NAACP awards … thank you so much to everyone who’s been a part of this journey!” Noah said on his Twitter page.

The selection panel for the 50th NAACP Image Awards, which is set to take place on March 30, nominated The Daily Show and Noah in the categories of: Outstanding Talk Series, Outstanding Variety Show, Outstanding Host in a Talk Show/Series, and Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series.

The NAACP is an American-founded and based civil rights organisation that thrives to secure the political, social, educational, and economic equality of people of colour.
