Ntando Duma denounces EFF support

She claims the piece of cloth was the closest thing she could find to cover her fresh braids.

TV and radio personality Ntando Duma has denied her support for the EFF after posting an image of herself wearing a doek featuring the party’s branding.

In an interview with Isolezwe, Duma said there was no political party she would openly say she supported.

Duma told the publication: “There is no party that I follow. I’m not involved in politics. I’ve never voted but I am going to register to vote for these coming elections. I will be voting for the first time this year but that does not mean I will vote for the EFF just because I was seen wearing the party’s doek.”

The starlet said she had no idea that posting a picture of herself wearing an EFF doek would cause such an uproar.

“I was sitting at home and came across an EFF doek. I wore it because I realised that it suits me. I took the picture because I had a headache caused by the fact that I had braided my hair. I was asking people how do they go to sleep with their braids because I could not at the time,” explained Duma.

She also shared how she received a lot of flack in the comments under her photo.

“Some commented and said the reason I could not go to sleep was the EFF doek I was wearing. They said it would have been better if I was wearing an ANC doek. Some called, while others sent me messages wanting me to clarify on the picture,” she added.

She concluded by saying she did not believe this would impact future employment.
