Somizi: It’s an honour to be roasted by ‘high-calibre’ celebs – except these people

Somgaga was slightly less impressed by Ntsiki Mazwai, Kurt Darren and Schalk Bezuidenhout.

Somizi was roasted on Thursday night last week at The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City in a hilarious show.

We don’t want to spoil the jokes for you, as it will air in a few days on Comedy Central’s channel 122 on DStv, and be available on Showmax from May 8.

But suffice it to say that Somizi was roasted for, among other things, being a “cradle snatcher” with his young bae, Mohale Motaung, but that was just the start of it.

Fortunately the choreographer and reality star got to dish out the best put-downs himself at the end of event.

The Citizen did an exclusive interview with SomGaga ahead of his Roast, and in the clip below he speaks about how he had no fear of the roast, comparing it to a delicious roast leg of lamb.

He said he was “ready to be roasted … just give me my Champagne. I’ll be fabulous.”

He said he felt honoured to have Gareth Cliff, and other celebs like him, be part of his Roast.

“It’s high-calibre celebrities … okay, except [poet] Ntsiki Mazwai.”

We then asked him to talk about some of the “roasters” on the panel.

On DJ Fresh, he said their relationship was all about “talking crap”. He said he loved Fresh’s big hands, which give “beautiful massages” and could almost bring him to orgasm.

He said that with “Ntsiki it’s gonna be personal”.

“I want to roast her and circumcise her with everything that I have.

“Because Ntsiki … she just blabbers … and offends people. And she thinks this world is … she can just wake up and say s**t about people. And it’s okay.

“She has a bad way of looking for attention. So this is a way to speak my heart as well.

“Unfortunately with Ntsiki, I think she’s thicker-skinned than most of us … and not thick-skinned because she’s thick skinned. She’s thick-skinned because she hasn’t taken a bath in a long time.

“So her skin is so thick of … i’ntsila [dirt]. So … they must call her Ntsila Mazwai.”

On comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout, he was simply confused.

“I don’t know him. He doesn’t look like he should be known. He has that face where you feel like giving him bread … or … food.”

He said Bezuidenhout just looked hungry to him, like one of “those whites who didn’t use his advantages during apartheid and now he’s standing at the robots”.

“Schalk, why did you agree to do this thing? How do you know me? So you’re just going to google me, and speak s**t. I don’t know. I’m probably not going to say anything about Schalk. I’m just gonna say, ‘Heeeey … bye’. I don’t know him.”

As for Kurt Darren, he reckoned the Afrikaans star had taken the gig to roast him because “being next to Somizi will boost his career … he needs it”.
