Anele Mdoda resigns as host of ‘Real Talk’

A new presenter will take over when the current season of show ends in October.

After two years in the driver’s seat, Anele Mdoda has resigned as host of SABC 3 talk show, Real Talk with Anele.

The channel made the announcement on Thursday afternoon through a press statement, which left fans shocked.

The statement revealed that Anele’s resignation was accepted and that her last show will be on 8 June.

“Real Talk with Anele has, since the beginning of season one, been exceptionally close to my heart and I have been enormously proud to work with SABC 3. I feel, for my own growth, it is time to leave the show and to focus on my career ambitions and prospects.

“I would like to thank SABC3, the viewers and everyone behind the show for the opportunity they afforded me through the show. Hopefully this is not the end but see you later,” Anele said in the statement.

The statement went on to add that the current season of the show will end in October and that the search for a new presenter was already underway.

“Anele Mdoda was a great addition to the Real Talk show. We wish her all the best with her future endeavors,” said Janez Vermeiren and Yusuf Stevens, Executive Producers of Real Talk with Anele and Director Cheeky Media.

They added that they were excited about launching the new face of Real Talk in the near future.
