AKA finally speaks out on Bonang split
AKA gets honest as he talks about his ex publicly for the first time.
Kiernan Forbes has spoken about his ex-girlfriend, Bonang Matheba, for the first time since their split at the end of 2017.
While Bonang has looked as happy as she’s ever been following their break-up, AKA has been visibly affected by the ending of their relationship. After taking a brief hiatus to clear his mind, Supa Mega returned last week with two brand new songs; one of which was dedicated to his ex.
This week he was invited to the 5FM studios where he spoke to Thando Thabethe about the breakup and how it has affected him. Refusing to be drawn in, however, AKA stopped short of revealing why their relationship ended:
“If I was any less of a guy, I would just stand here and tell you the whole story. But I think when you love somebody and you respect somebody, you leave that type of stuff between each other.”
This of course prompted the question of whether or not he still loves her. Kiernan couldn’t deny that he did.
“I believe I’m still dealing with it, I’m not going to say I am over her. I am not going to say I don’t love her. I do. All of those things. I am a human being, guys.”
