Beyonce breaks silence on Jay Z, Solange elevator scuffle

Solange Knowles, Jay Z and Beyonce have finally broken their silence about the now infamous elevator video.

The Carter-Knowles family released a statement saying Solange and Jay Z had each assumed their share of responsibility for what happened, CNN reported.

On Monday surveillance video was leaked showing Beyonce’s sister attacking Jay-Z in an elevator after the glamorous Met Gala in New York on May 5. The video quickly went viral. Neither Solange, Beyonce or Jay-Z mentioned the incident on their respective Twitter feeds Monday, but the couple were spotted at a basketball game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Miami Heat at the Barclays Centre in New York City.

There was speculation the fall-out was more serious when Solange apparently deleted photographs of her sister on her Instagram account. Beyonce seemed to respond by posting pictures of the pair on her own account.

The family however refused to delve into the cause of the fight, insisting it was a private matter that unfortunately played out in public. Solange and Jay Z have reportedly apologised to each other and the family has ‘moved forward’. They also denied rumours that Solange was intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening.
