Here is Melanie Son’s guide to being single and happy

Radio personality Melanie Son is picking up the pieces after her shocking divorce from husband of nine years Zwai Bala

The couple announced in October that they were calling it quits after nearly two decades together.

“We have come to a mutual decision that although we’ve strived to be the best version of ourselves within our marriage, we have sadly fallen short of that,” they said in a statement.

t was a tough decision, but Melanie is moving on with her life as best she can.

Here’s her guide to being single and happy

Show off your bikini bod

Khloé Kardashain says the best revenge after a break-up is creating an amazing body. Melanie, who is a mom of two, showed off her bikini body during a recent massage session.

The radio personality is not the ‘flaunting your bikini body’ type, and rarely posts pictures of herself in swimwear, but we are glad she posted this snap!

Enjoy some yoga

Yoga is known to benefit your mind, body and soul. It’s the perfect way to have some quiet time after a heartbreaking break-up. Melanie is a big yoga fan, and shared a picture of herself on Instagram recently at one of her sessions.

“Truth be told, as consistent as I try to be with my practice, some days I take the easier option and squeeze in a quick 15-20 minute practice, when I could be on the mat longer because, reasons. Today I pushed myself for over an hour on the mat, and at a higher practice level than I normally do… and I feel amazing. Need to do that far more often. Could it be a metaphor for life?” she wrote.

Friends

Alone time is a must after a split, but you also need friends and family to cheer you up. Hanging out with friends who have gone through the same situation is a plus.

Melanie and Unathi, who separated from her husband this year, caught up at an event, and shared a few laughs together. “Our reaction when someone says #SameWhatsappGroup,” she captioned this image.

Enjoy time with the kids

Melanie and Zwai said in a joint statement after their divorce that they are “committed to jointly raising” their children in a happy and healthy environment.

The best medicine after a break-up is spending time with those you love, and Melanie enjoys having fun with their kids. It’s also a good way to distract them from the split!

Have some fun

Melanie revealed in October that she will be taking part in the celebrity edition of the SA Bake Off. We had no idea she enjoyed baking.

“This crazy bunch of lovelies will be with me on #SABakeOff in the celeb edition in December. Can’t wait for y’all to see how hilarious it is!” she said on Instagram.
