These are the most outrageous celebrity looks of 2017

Celebrities spend thousands of rands on looking their best for red-carpet events throughout the year.

From designer outfits to expensive weaves – no expense is spared when it comes to their image.

But despite the make-up and wardrobe team help, they don’t always get it right!

Here are some of their most outrageous looks from 2017.

Somizi

TV and radio personality Somizi Mhlongo is known for his expensive, and sometimes outrageous designer looks. He has worn sparkly green pants, over-the-top fur coats, and six-inch Louboutin heels, but the outfit he wore to the SAMAs takes the cake. As co-host of the show, Somizi wore not one, but eight outfits on the night.

Patricia de Lille

Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille was the talk of the town following thanks to this floral look she wore to the State of the Nation Address. The ‘flower power’ kaftan she wore led to many calling her the ‘hippie aunt’.

Skolopad

Skolopad caused a stir on the red carpet at the Metro FM awards when she arrived in a revealing yellow dress. Nobody knew her name, but ‘the lady in the yellow dress’ was trending on twitter.

Her crazy poses, which included lying on the floor, added to the drama. She loved the dress so much she wore it to another event too!

Zodwa Wabantu

Skolopad was not the only one stealing the spotlight on the red carpet with risqué looks. Dancer Zodwa Wabantu turned heads at this year’s Durban July in a black dress that left little to the imagination. Zodwa, who is famous for not wearing panties, confidently wore the dress, and seemed unfazed by all the looks she was getting.

Thanks to her Internet-breaking appearance, Zodwa can now charge up to R35 000 for a club appearance

Skolopad

When it comes to shocking dresses… Skolopad has to feature twice on the list! She saved the best for last it seems, as the boerewors-inspired dress she wore to the Feather Awards in November will go down as the most outrageous red-carpet look of the year – and possibly the decade.

Her dress was completely see-through, aside from the wors that covered her private areas.
