Wayde van Niekerk married his long-time girlfriend Chesney Campbell during the weekend. The wedding was quite low-key, with only friends and family in attendance.

The couple got engaged in December 2016 after three years of dating. Van Niekerk revealed the news of his engagement through a video of Campbell showing off her ring.

Earlier this year, Van Niekerk said he would be concentrating on arrangements for his wedding. He did not share any more details, but revealed he was very excited to marry the love of his life.

Van Niekerk took to social media to break the news of his marriage by posting a photo of the newlyweds with the caption: “Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you Neshney. So blessed to start this next adventure with the girl of my dreams! I love you!”
