Pulane has moved on from abusive ex, says she has healed and found love again

Shortly after announcing her exit from an abusive relationship, Pulane Lenkoe says she is in a happy space and has found love again in the arms of an ex-boyfriend.

On Tuesday, Lenkoe trended on Twitter after she released images of her bruised face and body accompanied by a statement on how she had survived physical abuse at the hands of her ex-boyfriend, understood to be soccer player Katlego Mphela.

According to Lenkoe, she had been punched and beaten on several occasions by her ex-boyfriend and, in one incident, was left with bloodied clothes and a blue eye. She told friends she was in an accident because she was so badly injured.

“Funny thing is that I always considered myself to be very strong, I guess we all have our weaknesses, I allowed this man who promised to love, protect and make me feel safe to do this to me over and over and over and over again, and each time he would swear, ‘nka se tlhole ke go toucher [I won’t touch you anymore], I promise my love’ and soon as he said that it’s like I would be hypnotized or something cause the only person I felt I needed it would be the same person who was causing me pain,” she wrote on Instagram.

In another post, Lenkoe said she was in a happier space and had moved on from her past. She told TshisaLIVE she was content and had found love again with an ex-boyfriend.

“I found love in the arms of one of my ex-boyfriends. My man told my mother that he wants to marry me as soon as possible. He values me and worships the ground I walk on,” she said.

“If you are in an abusive relationship, walk away. Things won’t get better. Instead they get worse and you will never change your partner’s behaviour. It’s so painful when someone treats you badly, and doesn’t see anything wrong in that,” she added.
