I’m burning, says Simphiwe Ngema on her birthday

The former Muvhango actor is finding it difficult to celebrate her birthday on Tuesday without her husband.

Dumi Masilela’s widow, Simphiwe Ngema, has broken her silence for the first time since her husband’s passing earlier this month. Sadly, today is her birthday, and she would want nothing more than to spend the day with her husband.

Taking to Instagram, Ngema wrote: “All I want for my birthday is to hear you say I’m gold because I am burning.”

Speaking at her husband’s memorial service, Ngema said nothing could have prepared her to be a 28-year-old widow, saying it was hard to come to terms with the fact that she would not achieve the goals she had shared with her husband.

Though she may feel like she doesn’t have the strength to resist the heat, her followers shared words of comfort, with some saying she was the strongest person they had ever met.

“The strongest person to witness on earth planet is you Simz…I remember my bf asking me why was I down the day your hubby was shot and killed. I cried my eyes out telling him about it..@Dumirest in peace bro.. @simzngema God is yo strength,” said one.

They sent her birthday wishes, also telling her she would feel better with time.

The Rhythm City actor died following a hijacking ordeal earlier this month in Tembisa. Masilela spent the night fighting for his life in hospital after being shot during the attempted hijacking and died the following morning.
