Dumi Masilela’s aunt dies after hearing the tragic news
His aunt passed on this morning after a year of increasingly bad news.

Dumi Masilela’s aunt also died on Thursday morning following the tragic news of her nephew’s passing.
Family spokesperson Mpumi Phillips confirmed that the aunt had died at the family home after hearing the news.
“We can confirm that Dumi’s aunt has died but the family will not elaborate further than this,” family spokesperson Mpumi Phillips told TshisaLIVE.
It is a difficult time for the family as Dumi’s father, Pastor Masilela, passed on last year.
The Rhythm City actor died following a hijacking ordeal on Wednesday evening in Tembisa. Masilela spent the night fighting for his life in hospital after being shot during an attempted hijacking.
The actor was reportedly parked on a road in Tembisa with a friend when they were approached by a black Jeep. They tried to flee, but a chase ensued.
“They tried to drive off, but the black Jeep followed, and the occupants opened fire. He [Masilela] was shot in the upper body,” police spokesperson Kay Makhubele said on Thursday morning.
His friend rushed the actor to hospital, where he spent the night fighting for his life. He died this morning.
