Details: Exactly how much Bonang and Nomzamo took home for MAMAs gig

A source revealed that Bonang only agreed to do the show if Viacom Networks would fly her stylist from New York to Johannesburg.

She is regarded as the most sought-after host in the country, and it has now apparently come to light just how much companies are willing to spend to have Bonang at the helm of their top events.

R500 000 is the amount Bonang is said to have pocketed after hosting the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) last weekend alongside Yemi Lade of Nigeria and actress Nomzamo Mbatha.

Zalebs reports that a source has revealed that Bonang only agreed to do the show if Viacom Networks, the company that owns MTV channels, would fly her stylist from New York to Johannesburg, in addition to the R500 000 she was paid.

Bonang was asked to present the show, which was broadcast live across the African continent a day before Daily Show host Trevor Noah pulled out at the last minute due to an ear infection.

Zalebs also reports that Nomzamo was apparently paid R35 000 to host alongside Bonang. The two celebrities are represented by the same PR company, and it is believed they came as a package deal for MTV.
