LeAnne Dlamini on her ‘End Girl Hate’ conference

Dlamini said part of holding 'End Girl Hate' conferences was to teach women about loving themselves.

Women from all across South Africa have responded to singer and motivational speaker LeAnne Dlamini’s “End Girl Hate” conference, which aims to leave them motivated and inspired to own their power to make a difference in their lives and of those around them.

“My love and passion for women and girls is what drives me and motivates me,” Dlamini said, at the brunch at the Fire and Ice hotel in Johannesburg.

“When I see my sisters struggling or doing well, I know that I need to be their biggest cheerleader, pushing them on and encouraging them,” she added.

Dlamini said part of holding “End Girl Hate” conferences was to teach women about loving themselves and their fellow sisters, and knowing that it’s okay to support each other in the journey called life. “We can’t not support each other. The world needs so much more love, and if I can inspire one person to do that, I will continue to do so,” she said.

“Women or sisterhood to me means having your tribe with you all the time; that is what sisterhood and women are to me,” she explained.

“These are warriors that have my bag when I’m about to go into war. The women that are there to comfort me when I’m mourning; the women that are there to cheer me on and vice-versa. The women I can give the same for in return. My tribe and these are my women warriors,” she said.

“Putting the event together was probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do because you want it to be comfortable, but you also want people’s lives to be changed,” she indicated.

“To get so many women in one room doesn’t happen on nothing. They’ve got to be fed, so it’s about sponsorships and funding. It’s been very hard but so rewarding.”

She said when she saw woman walking away from “End Girl Hate” and posting on social media about having a great day and having their lives impacted positively it made all the challenges of organising the event bearable.

“Next year ‘End Girl Hate’ will definitely be bigger and better. I plan to do my conferences at least twice a year with different themes that will just keep inspiring women.”
