‘DJ Tira didn’t discover Babes Wodumo, I did’

She says she discovered the Wololo hit maker in 2013 after she made a call for public auditions looking for dancers.

Durban tycoon Nana Zondi has come out guns blazing, accusing DJ Tira of always taking credit for what he did not do.

This after reports emerged of Tira claiming to have discovered Durban sensation Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane.

In a report in Sunday World, Zondi says she is happy for Babes Wodumo, claiming to have sent her a message of congratulations on her new-found success, but she feels Tira should give credit where it’s due.

She says she discovered the Wololo hit maker in 2013 after she made a call for public auditions looking for dancers for a music video for Big Nuz’s song Hawaii.

“Anyone in the know knows I chose Babes Wodumo, along with 10 other dancers from this public audition, and I used to get her gigs around Durban.

“I cannot be referred to as an agent in interviews instead of the one who saw potential in her and gave her a platform and chance to meet DJ Tira and Mampintsha,” she told the Sunday paper.

Though he admitted to knowing Zondi, DJ Tira told the paper he did not want to comment on the matter as Babes Wodumo was Mampintsha’s protégée.
