DJ Zinhle, Slikour and Bonang make news

Did bae accept Bonang Matheba's leap day proposal and conditions?

The past weekend was probably the biggest in the South African music industry so far. Our musicians celebrated their achievements and milestones at the Metro FM Awards.

AKA was already in celebratory mode because his single Make Me Sing had reached over a million views on YouTube in 10 days. The 3RDWORLDBOSS also surprised us this week when he wore a suit to the Metros, we must say, he looked good in it.

Also, the Metros got us wondering why Pearl Thusi’s favourite couple, Boity and Cassper, attended the event separately. Not that Boity needed the company and love; the model and presenter received enough of that from fans who were praising her gorgeous dress, and her leg game too was on fleek.

A few weeks back, there were reports that the couple had broken up and it was alleged Cassper had cheated. Boity also attended Da Les’ all-white party without Cassper at her side. Is there trouble in paradise or is there even a paradise at all?

Speaking of paradise, what happened to Bonang Matheba and Somizi Mhlongo’s paradise? The two were an example of the perfect friendship, always doing things together and sharing pictures on Instagram, but we have not seen that in a while.

Still on that note, Sunday Sun reported Sbusiso Leope, DJ Sbu, had found love again. His rumoured girlfriend is said to have been a University of Johannesburg student with whom Sbu allegedly flew to Durban on a private jet. The reports were however dismissed by Instagram user lindo-m, who said he was with DJ Sbu the whole time he was in Durban and said there was no rumoured girlfriend.

On Monday, leap day was trending on Twitter, and so was DJ Zinhle. This because of Sunday Sun report which alleged that DJ Zinhle had also found love again in the arms of a KwaZulu-Natal married man. Twitter exploded, with some taking her side, saying she could date whoever she liked. Some however, lashed out at her for “dating a married man” when a few months back she outed Bonang Matheba for dating her baby daddy AKA.

Zinhle then took to Twitter to refute the claims. She felt obliged to respond to the “lies” told about her for the “people who respect me and look up to me and my family”. Zinhle denied the rumours, saying “It’s never acceptable to enter into a relationship with a married man”. She further tweeted she was focused on raising Baby K and had no room for any man in her life. However, she left the opportunity open for the “single, ambitious and cute men” who might want to pursue her.

She tweeted:

Coming back to paradises that seem to exist and be functioning well, we celebrated leap day on Monday, however, we did not hear of any ladies who broke the norm and went down on one knee, what happened? Even Mpho Maboi asked Twitter why she had not heard of any lady who proposed. Bonang Matheba responded to Maboi’s tweet and said the only condition under which she would propose was if bae became Mr Matheba and that the arrangement was non-negotiable. It seems to be going well in the Matheba paradise, however, we wonder what bae would say about becoming Mr Matheba.

She tweeted:

Queen B

Another paradise that seems to be situated in cloud nine is that of Idols SA finalist Lloyd Cele. When he was on the show, his wife Janice was expecting their bundle of joy. A few years later and the couple were celebrating nine years of marriage. In a sweet message posted on his Instagram, the singer says it took him a very long two years to find the courage to ask his wife out on a date because he was scared of being rejected. Fast forward to 2016 and he’s grateful he asked her out. Congratulations to the Celes, we wish you all the best.

We are also celebrating with the Slikour paradise as the hip hop artist went on CliffCentral to share the great news of his engagement to girlfriend of three years Melissa Wilkinson. That is big news for someone who never talks about his love life, even his relationship with Bonang Matheba was a mystery. Anyway, we are happy for you and wish you all the best.
