Nondumiso Tembe joins Generations

Award-winning actress Nondumiso Tembe has joined the cast of popular soap 'Generations'.

According to Drum, Tembe has been cast in the role of Phumelele Miya, also known as Miss Mya, a feisty fashion executive raised in the Big Apple.

Miss Mya’s life resembles Tembe’s own. She was born in Durban but also spent her formative years in New York City while her parents studied music at the famous Juilliard School. Her family returned to South Africa when she was ten, but she moved back when she was 17 to study Musical Theatre. She is currently based in Los Angeles.

Tembe is known for her recurring role as a ghost called Mavis in Season 4 of American supernatural horror drama ‘True Blood’, and has also featured in US television series ‘NCIS’ and ‘NCIS:LA’.

Tembe will make her first appearance as Miss Mya in ‘Generations’ on 5 December.
