Presented by three of South Africa’s most charismatic television personalities; Cindy Nell-Roberts, Tumi Voster and Maps Maponyane. Each episode offers a look at the country’s best property investments.
There’s a gripping decor competition between four design apprentices, mentored by four leading experts, as well as the evolution of an apartment that’s transformed from an empty shell into an enviable multi-million rand home that can be won by a viewer.
In short, when we say Win A Home has it all – including several stylish kitchen sinks – we mean it!
Each of our three presenters covers a different section of the show, the first being ‘Inspiration’. This sees Cindy visiting an array of beautifully decorated rooms in homes around the country while getting décor and renovation tips from local décor experts, something that interests her personally.
‘I love making my living spaces look beautiful so look forward to gleaning all that décor inspiration from people who do it best’, says the popular TV presenter, former Miss South Africa and model.
As for the ‘reality competition’ aspect, this is presented by fun-loving 5FM radio personality and SABC 1’s YOTV presenter search competition winner Tumi. This follows the journey of four design apprentices who face the weekly challenge of furnishing and decorating an empty apartment within the luxurious Steyn City Lifestyle Estate, currently being built in the north of Johannesburg.
The designers will be mentored by four of South Africa’s top interior decorators; Amanda Elliot from Design Collective, Abilene Brodie from Head Interiors, Stephen Falcke from Stephen Falcke Interiors and Nthabi Taukobond from Ditau Interiors. Viewers can vote for their favourite designer each week and the stakes are as high as the ceilings in that the overall winning apprentice is awarded the opportunity to become one of Steyn City’s resident designers.
Last but not least, the ‘apartment’ section of the show is presented by model, actor and Cosmopolitan magazine’s Sexiest Man winner Maps. He’ll be following the progress of Kim Hutton, Steyn City’s resident designer, as he renovates a single apartment within the complex; transforming it from an empty shell to an opulent yet welcoming living space that one lucky viewer stands a chance of calling their home.
While viewers can enter to win prizes throughout the show, their names go into a draw to win the ultimate prize – the newly decorated apartment. Maps will also chat to a featured ‘designer of the week’, something that suits him just fine he’s passionate about architecture and innovation.
If you’ve got an interest in décor, a love of local design or simply enjoy a good competition, you’re going to want to watch Win A Home on SABC3 at 8pm every Thursday starting on the 21st of August 2014.
