LISTEN: Goodluck’s latest single ‘What Next’ looks into our new normal

The band believes we can not go back to treating the world the way we did before this pandemic.

Our every day has been turned upside, with our new normal now including social distancing and wearing face masks outdoors at all times. The environment is taking strides with much less impact on the carbon footprint, proving the huge impact humans have on the environment.

Popular South African electro band Goodluck has tapped into this in their new song, What Next, in a press statement the band said the changes have forced us to, “consider what our future will look like if we continue on the same path of disregard for the environment”.

Lead vocalist Jules said she had been writing the song since 2017 and only now completed it during lockdown.

“We cannot go back to treating the world the way we did before this pandemic. We have to change the way we live and consume, or the future isn’t going to look bright for any of us. That’s the message we want What Next to drive home.”

The song is available for download on all musical digital platforms, with 50% of the profits going to World Land Trust which aims to restore and preserve threatened habitats.
