Pearl Thusi’s interview with AKA divides ‘Behind The Story’ viewers

Pearl Thusi took on the difficult task of interviewing the man who once broke her best friend’s heart, and left viewers divided. In an episode of Behind The Story that aired on Wednesday, the two talked – or at least tried to talk – about his music, Cassper Nyovest, and DJ Zinhle, among others.

On Cassper, AKA said he hated that people could not accept that he did not have to be friends with him.

“I hate the fact that my name is always next to his. I’m a proper musician. We don’t need to be friends. Why can’t you guys accept that we don’t need to be friends?”

The beef had overtaken him so much that he ended up blocking Thusi on Twitter for appearing in Cassper’s music video, he added.

On DJ Zinhle, AKA said things didn’t work out between them at the time because he failed to appreciate what he had in her.

“I was at a point where I did not appreciate what I had, now I’ve grown and I appreciate what I have and the woman I am with and this time I won’t mess it up,” he said, and further thanked Thusi for holding things down with his baby mama when he was not there.

Though his fans praised him for his honesty and not being as shady as viewers thought he would be, others, however, thought the interview was “pointless”.

They accused Thusi of letting AKA get away with not answering some of the questions and not asking the hard questions.
