Jub Jub slammed as host of new DSTV show

Jub Jub was convicted for killing four children while drag-racing under the influence of drugs on a public road near a school.

A new show based on America’s popular Cheaters is set to premiere on Moja Love (DStv channel 157) on Sunday 26 May at 21:00. Uyajola 9/9 promises to uncover people who cheat on their partners, which should be the most shocking thing about the show, except that producers have chosen to have convicted killer Jub Jub host the show.

The one-time celeb was released from prison in 2017 after serving just 4 years, one month and one day of his eight-year sentence for killing four children, along with his friend, Themba Tshabalala, while drag-racing under the influence of drugs on a public road near a school.

The press release for the show ignores Jub Jub’s callous past and chooses instead to focus on the fact that he thinks the show is, “not for the faint-hearted”.

“I am very proud to be pioneering a show that is a very first of its kind in Mzansi. There is no doubt that cheating and infidelity are social ills that are wreaking havoc in South African communities, therefore my quest with this show is to shed light on the impact infidelity has on all affected individuals,” the statement reads.

“As you can imagine doing a show like this takes a lot of courage as you are dealing with people’s lives and their pain on a daily basis. I’m telling you it’s not for the faint-hearted,” he adds, saying that he is proud to be linked to a show that “sheds light on real issues South African people are dealing with.”

Some Twitter users are already questioning the decision of the DSTV to hire the host when so many others are available to do the same job.

The rapper has previously appeared on Morning Live to say that he is a “changed man”, saying he would be haunted for the rest of his life over the 2010 car accident. At the time he also thanked the nation for being “forgiving.

Jub Jub previously hosted Uthando Noxolo on Mojo Love in 2018.
