Five of the best cosplay costumes from rAge 2018

Feast your eyes on these staggering homemade costumes.

South Africa’s biggest video games expo, rAge, closed its doors at the weekend, and while the games, baubles and tech have left a lot to pick over, one of the gathering’s growing communities deserves a special mention: the cosplayers.

This year saw a much larger cosplay contingent and while there was the odd costume that looked as though it had been thrown together at the last minute, the lion’s share of what was showcased was stunning.

What follows are five of the best cosplay outfits our photographer snapped at rAge 2018. If you’re a fan, or even have a passing interest in cosplay, we urge you to check out their instagram accounts, because they really are gateways to one of the most interesting – and friendly – communities in geek SA.
