Judas Priest are coming to South Africa

Headbangers will want to mark their calendars for March next year.

Judas Priest will be coming to South Africa for the very first time in March next year, Big Concerts confirmed on Thursday.

There are few heavy metal bands that have managed to scale the heights that Judas Priest have during their generation-spanning career.

Formed in the early 1969 in Birmingham, England, Priest were one of the first metal bands to exclusively wear leather and studs – a look that began during this era and would eventually be embraced by metal heads throughout the world. The band went on to change the face of heavy metal.

With a 2010 Grammy Award win for Best Metal Performance and a 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination, their current album, Firepower, released this March has become the highest charting album of their career. And they have scorched their way round the world with sellout shows on the Firepower tour.

The band will perform in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
