Kanye forgiven for right-wing ranting after fans hear Ye

A listening party was held on Thursday so that a selected group could get a first peek at Kanye West's upcoming album Ye.

Celebrities in the house included comedian Chris Rock, fellow rappers Nas, Ty Dolla $ign and Pusha T and of course West’s reality tv-star wife, Kim Kardashian.

The collection of songs has silenced critics who had written West off after his controversial recent tweets and comments, which saw him praise Donald Trump, show support for far-right African-American political commentator Candace Owens and, most contentiously of all, calling slavery a “choice”.

At first listen, though, the album has seemed to please music critics and long-time fans alike. Many were relieved to discover there are no mentions of President Trump in Kanye’s lyrics.

The album, which has just seven songs and is 23 minutes long, can be streamed on Spotify.
