Bucie shares shocking details of her life-threatening pregnancy
Local musician Bucie recently shared the details of complications that arose while she was pregnant with her second son.
While on the Fresh Breakfast show on Metro FM, Bucie explained how her baby arrived nearly three months early, adding that this was not the first time she had had pregnancy complications:
“My firstborn son, [who] I had at 18, there [were] complications… my second, Aphiwe, I had him at six and a half months. He was premature.”
The situation became frightening when it emerged that both she and her baby were at risk and the doctors were worried that one (or both) of them might not make it.
“There were complications to the point where doctors thought that if they kept him still, cause my [waters] broke very early so they tried to buy time to 30 or 31 weeks, if he stayed in tummy for another day we were both going to die, or one of us wouldn’t make it. So he is a miracle.”
In 2017, Bucie announced that she was pregnant with a third child and although she was extremely excited to be welcoming another member of the family, she begged for privacy from the media and her fans,
Explaining her reasons, she said: “It is still very early (in the pregnancy) and I am not comfortable to speak about it yet, especially because traditionally we don’t announce anything at such an early stage. I don’t understand why it is being spoken about when I left music to just be a mom and wife,”
