Experience an award-winning cinematic gem

Is one of your new year’s resolutions to spend more time with your friends? Well, Nu Metro has the solution.

The cinema chain will be hosting South Africa’s first ever pre-release screenings of record-breaking Golden Globe-winner La La Land, as part of Girls’ Night Out, next Thursday, January 19.

This means that cinemagoers nationwide (albeit ladies only) can see the film more than a week before its general release date of January 27.

La La Land broke the record for the most Golden Globe Awards, winning seven. It won every award it was nominated for – including Best Picture (Musical or Comedy), Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Score and Best Song. And, now, Nu Metro is giving ladies across South Africa a first look at what all the fuss is about.

Apart from these screenings Nu Metro will also be hosting special sneak pre-release screenings of the film next Saturday and Sunday, (January 21 and 22). La La Land tells the story of Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes. Set in modern-day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.

It is guaranteed to get everyone tapping their feet to the infectious music; be mesmerised by its immaculate style, topnotch acting, a touching story, brilliant screenplay and truly memorable ambience.

The film has been praised by critics everywhere as the standout film of the year.
