Connie ferguson is leaving Generations

Ferguson asked to be released from her contract as she has been working on a couple of projects that "need her undivided attention".

One of Generations: The Legacy lead actresses Connie Ferguson is leaving the soapie. In a statement released by the soapie’s spokesperson Gaaratwe Mokhethi on Wednesday, Ferguson asked to be released from her contract as she has been working on a number of projects that need her undivided attention.

This serves as yet another blow for the Generations family as Ferguson’s on-screen husband Tau Mogale, played by Rapulana Seiphemo, was recently involved in a car accident. The couple’s romance set tongues wagging when Karabo was cheating on Tau and later opted to take a second wife. Social media did not hold back from creating memes of the couple, making fun of their situation.

Karabo’s character will be on our screens for the next coming months. Her exit scenes have not been shot yet and it was not clear if her character would be killed.

“Generations: The Legacy family wishes her all the best with her endeavours and trusts she will continue playing a key role in the industry,” Mokhethi said.

The show’s creator and executive producer Mfundi Vundla also expressed his appreciation, saying Connie was a “significant figure” in the construction of the soapie.

“I will eternally be grateful for that and her contribution to the growth of our industry,” he said.
