Last month, EFF leader Julius Malema made claims during a press conference held at the IEC results centre in Pretoria that the Mabala Noise record label, owned by national treasurer of the ANC Youth League Reggie Nkabinde, had paid its artists an amount of R5 million.

The claims have since been denied by the label bosses Nkabinde and DJ Bongz, saying there was no truth in Malema’s claims.

Rikhado Makhado, better known by his stage name Riky Rick, also took to Twitter to tell Malema to stop lying the public.

Riky Rick said Malema was lying, as there was no R5 million he had received from anyone. “Anyone who knows me knows how hard we work for what we have … @Julius_S_Malema included. Don’t ever get it twisted,” he tweeted.

Another artist signed by the label, Khanyi Mbau, has also come out to dismiss the R5 million claims, saying the figure was wrong.

In a video shared on Youtube by Zkhiphani, Mbau confirmed that all the artists signed under thehad been given “a lot of money” and that they were looked after well.

“Look I won’t say how much it is, but we got a lot of money. No one in our stable is hungry. They look after us. They treat us like stars, they make sure we live in good neighbourhoods, drive nice cars, wear nice clothing. They believe in us. The R5 million is a wrong figure, but I won’t say how much, but it’s an amount that changes lives, yes,” she says.

Dubbed “the female Jomo Sono” by one of her Twitter followers, the singer, actor, TV show host and model has released a new single, Shake.

The single has received positive comments so far from her fans.
