Dark mode is now available for WhatsApp in South Africa. You can download or update your current version of WhatsApp from the Google Playstore.
Dark mode helps save battery life on your cellphone, and also helps lessen the strain on your eyes, because the background is dark, making for easy reading, especially in the dark, reports Ladysmith Gazette.
Because of the increased battery life, this is the preferred mode for most apps. This highly anticipated mode was first made available in other countries and has had South African WhatsApp users glued to updates for months.
How to get dark mode working on WhatsApp:
- Firstly, you need to update your WhatsApp to the latest version in Google Playstore.
- Click on Settings.
- Under Display, click on Theme and then set it to Dark mode. Press OK.
It’s as simple as that!
