Users of the social media platform WhatsApp will be glad to know that the popular messaging app is finally rolling out multi-device login support for more than one phone.
Meta chairman Mark Zuckerberg announced the feature’s rollout on Facebook and Instagram.
“Starting today, you can log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones,” said Mark Zuckerberg.
WhatsApp said that this new tech feature is rolling out to all users within the coming weeks.
Until now, WhatsApp users could only use one account on one phone and multiple companion desktop devices.
“With the new rollout, users’ messages will be synced across devices including other phones. So even if one device is switched off, they can access the app on other devices,” it said.

However, WhatsApp said certain feature are not supported.
Viewing live location, creating and viewing broadcast lists and adding and deleting status on linked devices.
In a blog post, the social media giant said it is also rolling out a new way to link devices using a one-time code.
“You can now get a one-time-use code by entering your mobile number on WhatsApp Web, which you can use to link devices instead of scanning the QR code on your mobile phone. We’ll make this feature available for more linked devices in the future.”
WhatsApp also urged users to check their linked devices regularly.
“Go to WhatsApp Settings > Linked Devices to review all devices linked to your account. To log out of a linked device, tap the device > Log Out. We’ll also automatically disconnect linked devices after 30 days of inactivity.”
Other competitors like Telegram and Messenger offered multidevice sync for messages, but they didn’t have support for end-to-end encryption.
