Night photography could get massive boost with Samsung Galaxy S23

Leaked Night Mode shots have some questioning whether the camera really is all that.


As anticipation builds ahead of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy launch, speculation is rife that the Galaxy S23 could take mobile photography to the next level.

Leaked sample photos have been shared around the digital town square – Twitter, giving users a glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy’s superior camera prowess.

Some of the leaks included zoom processing, low-light photography, and design details, as well as the reported release of an ISP (Image Signal Processor).

Leaked Night Mode shots have some questioning whether the camera module would include 8K video or advanced zooming capabilities.

Others pointed out that the above image still looked stunning despite low-light conditions.

Trusted leaker Ice Universe said the latest Galaxy update could improve the camera performance, although the specifics are still unclear.

Ice Universe also shared a video featuring “the most comprehensive analysis about the HP2 sensor of the Galaxy S23 Ultra”.

The leaker added: “The author claims that the HP2 is currently the strongest and most balanced main camera sensor on a phone”.

‘Significantly improved’

In another update, Ice Universe compared photos taken with an S22 Ultra photos and said the detail “quality of photos has been significantly improved”.

“I took [photos] in the daytime when the light was good, and I can see that the quality of the leaves S23u is better, although it is not the original picture”.

Samsung Unpacked event

Other updates to look forward to including Samsung’s hardware updates, and the camera module featuring Sony IMX 10MP telephoto units and a Sony IMX564 sensor

The Samsung Unpacked event will be going live on 1 February.

Samsung teased the event by saying: Epic nights are coming. Bring your epic moments into the spotlight”.
