Sphelele Mzimela shares fears about being pregnant during Covid-19
'One day I will tell my kids that when I was pregnant with them there was a deadly flu-like virus... and share with them some of the conspiracy theories that I read about it online.'
The former Uzalo actress confirmed the news of her pregnancy on social media after weeks of speculation, after her role on the show was taken over by another actress. On finding out she was expecting, Mzimela says: “I was happy when I found out I was pregnant. I am still happy. Obviously I’ve gone through a lot of changes in my body and had the worst first trimester because I was violently sick. I was especially excited when I found out that I was expecting two babies.”

When asked about the challenge that comes with being pregnant during the coronavirus pandemic, she admits it’s scary. “I’ve literally been indoors since February so being on lockdown is not an issue for me. I’ve got a condition on my legs so I can’t drive myself around, so usually when I need something I send someone to go and buy it for me and always make sure that they are sanitised, they are clean when they come back in.”

“One day I will tell my kids that when I was pregnant with them there was a deadly flu-like virus that was killing people and share with them some of the conspiracy theories that I read about it online. I will also tell them how I was concerned about them cause I am scared for them more than anything else. Who was the president at the time, how people were during this time,” adds Mzimela.
