Xbox One hitting South Africa in October?

A rumour has surfaced that gamers may see Xbox One hitting South African shores in October.

Website The Verge has been on the receiving end of a bevy of rumours surrounding the Xbox One. The rumours originated on a NeoGAF forum post, but The Verge has since verified a number of the rumours with their own sources.

These rumour include the suggestion that Microsoft will be releasing a white version of the Xbox One, which was originally reserved for Microsoft employees. In addition to that, an Xbox One dashboard update is rumoured to hit in March of this year.

More interestingly for us in South Africa, is that this leaker provided Microsoft’s continued roll-out plan for the Xbox One. Two more release dates have been revealed for multiple territories across the globe.

In April 2014, Microsoft is rumoured to be releasing the Xbox One in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Colombia, Chile and Argentina.

Then, a second roll-out is planned in October for South Africa, China, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Greece, Portugal, Slovakia, Turkey, Saudia Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Israel, India, Indonesia and Egypt.

Microsoft has yet to comment on these rumours; we’ll update as soon as we hear anything.
