It’s the biggest red carpet in the world, and one that is judged savagely by the press.
Hits and misses on the Oscars’ red carpet become ingrained in pop culture and this year, celebrities did not disappoint with a few standouts and crazy flops.
Here are the best yasss and WTF moments from the Oscars 2019.
Perfection
For more of an empire waist, British actress Gemma Chan arrived in this hot pink Valentino gown which was one of the evening’s successful looks.
Aging herself
Charlize Theron looks about 10 years older in this unflattering pale blue gown and raven black hair.
Oops!
Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh fell ridiculously short. But then again, American rapper Williams notoriously looks bad at formal functions.
Wild, wild west
David Rawlings and Gillian Welch lit up the red carpet in their country and western matching looks.

Happy feet
Never wear red on the red carpet, unless you’re designer Tommy Hilfiger and your slip-ons have cannabis leaves on them. A definitely more fun outfit.
