Laughter is our national currency, and as fellow South Africans, we have got a black belt in turning life’s lemons into a comedic masterpiece.
Even when faced with an eggs shortage, we crack up instead of cracking down as there is never a dull moment in the rainbow nation.
By now, it should be pretty clear that South Africans have an all-access pass to the comedy club of life.
South Africans have recently navigated through a petrol price hike, danced through rising food prices, and now we have our sunny side up against an eggs crisis.
Yet, South Africans’ sense of humour is still very much intact as Netflorist has shown with their latest ‘gift offering’.
The company, famous for their tongue-in-cheek advertising, jokingly took to Instagram on Tuesday to advertise their latest gift idea.
Posting a photo of beautiful bouquet of flowers, resting on a tray of eggs, with the words ‘And they say the perfect gift doesn’t egg-sist’, the company captioned the post: ” P.S. A bodyguard will be helping us to deliver this national treasure. It’s easy to show you care with NetFlorist.”
With the recent shortage and skyrocketing prices of eggs, social media has been flooded with memes and jokes about the country’s favourite breakfast ingredient.
