WATCH: I could feel my ancestors on me, says Steve Harvey on Ghana journey

While in Ghana, Harvey visited the Ghana Slave Castles, where African slaves were once held before being shipped across the Atlantic to America.


American comedian and TV show host Steve Harvey recently went on a cross-country holiday with his family and shared his experiences with fans on social media. Among some of the countries he visited were Zimbabwe, where he visited the Victoria Falls and Ghana, where he said he connected with his ancestors.

While in Ghana, Harvey visited the Ghana Slave Castles, where African slaves were once held before being shipped across the Atlantic to America.

He said: “This was real pain I felt going back to Ghana’s slave castles… I could feel my ancestors on me… Powerful beyond words that I can explain. I encourage as many of you as possible to go home for your ancestors. Their strength is in each of us and we must honour their ultimate sacrifice in all that we do. #TheYearofTheReturn.”
