Khune’s friends ‘threatened to kill’ Minnie for dumping him

Model and TV presenter Minenhle Dlamini has opened a case of intimidation against her ex-boyfriend and Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune’s friends at the Douglasdale Police Station in Johannesburg.

One of Khune’s friends, Mlungisi Mncwabe, popularly known as Sjuku, allegedly threatened to kill Minnie after she dumped the soccer star.

Minnie revealed in a police statement seen by Sunday World that her life had been threatened by unknown people and reportedly told police she suspected her ex-boyfriend’s friends Sjuku, Obe Mofokeng, Vanessa Masilo and Ncumisa Maputaka.

The TV presenter has alleged she was once driven off the road on Malibongwe Drive by an unknown motorist in a white Volkswagen Golf while she was driving from work, while Maputaka attacked her in a club and hit her with a bottle of beer.

Minnie, currently in the Seychelles shooting Tropika Island of Treasure, told the publication she was out of the country living her life and focusing on her career, further accusing her former manager of leaking the story.

Mofokeng told the publication he was not aware of the case and that he had no issues with Minnie, further saying though he was still friends with the Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, they were not as close as they used to be.

Sjuku refused to comment on the case.

The case was opened a few months after the couple’s much-publicised split, with allegations that Khune had cheated on his model girlfriend.

Police spokesperson has reportedly confirmed to the publication that the case, which was opened in October 2014, was still under investigation and there had been no arrests made.

The couple, who broke up in 2014, was the envy of many, with Minnie posting snaps of them on social media. Their breakup broke the internet and trended for months afterwards. Though Minnie was hurt by the breakup, she said she was happy with the Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper and even saw herself marrying him.

“I was happy when it was good. It was the kind of relationship I didn’t see ending. I did see myself marrying him‚” she said.
