Warm up
It is very important to prepare your body before any workout. For Makhanya, this means a goal-focused run on the treadmill followed by a pedal walk on the obi-track.
With each of these, Makhanya sets the mode on calorie count and ensures that he burns at least 200. Depending on the day of the week, he might substitute the exercises with a mild jog up a hill.
Work out
It is very important to stick to a routine when training as this eliminates overwhelming feelings of doubt and confusion. For Makhanya, Mondays are leg day with a light infusion of ab workouts in between sets.
Tuesday is dedicated to the abs, chest and back. Wednesdays are when he focuses on arms and shoulders. Thursday is intense cardio and Friday yoga and other low-pressure exercises.
Cool down
After every workout, Makhanya takes 20 minutes to cool down the muscles which he has trained by stretching. This then allows the blood to flow and tension to drop.
