Ingredients
Scale
453g loaf French bread
10 tablespoons softened butter
½ cup fresh parsley
8 cloves garlic, finely minced
Kosher salt
½ cup pizza sauce
226g thick cut shredded mozzarella cheese
¼ cup pepperoni
Grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish
Red pepper flakes, for garnish
Instructions
Heat oven to 200°C
Add butter, parsley, garlic, and a large pinch of salt and pepper to a small bowl.
Mix until well combined.
Slice a loaf of bread in half lengthwise. Place cut side up on a baking sheet.
Spread garlic butter in an even layer across the cut side of each piece of bread.
Bake for 5 minutes.
Remove from oven and divide pizza sauce evenly between bread.
Add cheese and pepperoni.
Bake for another 15-20 minutes. Broil for 1-2 minutes if desired.
Allow to cool for a couple minutes, slice, garnish, and enjoy
Notes
Remember that the garlic flavour will mellow a bit as the garlic bread bakes in the oven, so if the garlic butter seems super garlicky, that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be!
The garlic butter is going to add a delicious layer of flavour underneath the classic pizza flavours, so don’t skimp on the garlic!
Save yourself time and energy by putting the garlic, parsley, and butter in the food processor. The food processor will mince the garlic and parsley while combining it with the butter for a really smooth, easily spreadable garlic butter.
